With the approaching retirement of a large portion of the Facility Management industry, more and more focus has been placed upon the definition of Facility Management and ultimately the succession of Facility Manager’s within many organizations. The questions, we are faced with as we seek to provide a future generation with a path into the future role of the Facility Manager, is do we know ourselves well enough to define our past and current practices and do we know how to model our business well enough to enable a future generation to thrive in our place? This presentation will seek to define our role as Facility Managers, and present effective methodologies that allow us to address the current and future needs of the Facility Manager and attract a new generation of FM’s into our industry.
