5.03 Artificial Intelligence in RE & FM
Friday, October 20, 2017 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Venue: George R. Brown Convention Center
Room: 350EF

One of the most prominent topics in IT today is ‘Artificial Intelligence’ or ‘Machine Learning’. Developed primarily in the business-to-consumer and public sectors, we now see tangible applications emerging to the use of it in the Real Estate and Facility Management domains. The introduction of principles of Machine Learning adds a new dimension to existing definitions of ‘smart,’ which primarily revolved around the ability of devices to communicate. This interactive session will engage the audience and focus on questions such as ‘Who is playing a role in this realm and what role?’ and ‘Where can RE & FM professionals apply principles of Machine Learning and to what end?’ and ‘What are existing applications and how can these be integrated?’ We will also focus on pitfalls and provide insight in how to prepare appropriately.
