Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, the Dark Web. These terms often come up in the same conversation, conjure up all kinds of images in our mind and can be overwhelming. Although some of these are more vague than others, we are going to focus on one that is becoming more solidified, “Blockchain”, and how that can be applied in our field or RE & FM. Blockchain, is a technology that emerged hand--in-hand with crypto-currencies. Blockchain technology and products are developing fast and are gradually finding their way into applications that have relevance for RE & FM managers. Examples of these can be found around contract management and demand management.
The key questions however are:

What unique vale does it bring to our business?
In this session we will explore these questions and provide some tangible examples of its promise. We will review just what is a Blockchain is, and what are the possible benefits and concerns in using this technology. We will also discuss what are the possible applications of the technology for Corporate Real Estate & Facilities Management, and finally how soon is this coming up and what should an FM do to prepare.
